PureScreen: Film & Video Artists Information Pack

Introduction:

This pack is intended to assist artists whose practice involves the production and exhibition of moving image work. The information is intended for, but are not limited to: video artists, short-film makers, animators, motion-graphic designers, VJs, and artists using video installation. The information will also be useful to curators planning and promoting events.

Compiling resources from the North West, UK, Europe and internationally, the information is intended for individuals seeking to develop their practice through training, networking and research. The pack may be useful to artists and curators in funding, producing, distributing, publicising and exhibiting their work through a growing range of opportunities at festivals, microcinemas, galleries or online streaming sites.

Due to space the pack does not list festivals or screening events outside Europe – artists may find this information in the databases, bulletins and directories suggested. Many of the entries are prominent organisations within the digital arts, so the information here may also be useful to artists working within the wider realm of new media. The pack is designed to complement the Castlefield Gallery’s online Artists Resources.
